Differencies between Contructivism and Constructionism

Professor one day you told me that Constructivism and Contructionist are different, so here I post the definitions.
Constructivism is a theory of knowledge, it says that we learn from our prior knowledge, learner learn by doing.

In fact, constructivism is a theory describing how learning happens, regardless of whether learners are using their experiences to understand something.

Constructionist:It holds that learning can happen most effectively when people are also active in making tangible objects in the real world. The learner contructs a meaninful product. It is "learning by making".
Example: In a science fair you contruct sometime that can clean the water, or you construct a new an artifact to excercise.
WIKIPEDIA

What I learned from this course.

This course gave me a lot tools to develop what I have learned during this major in many ways. One example is that I used Wiki for two of my presentation in different course, one was in Psichology, and the other one in Literature. So, it gave a many creative ways to prepare materials, and presentations.
One year ago I used the BLOG in another course, but every thing I used form it was very simple, here I learned more applications like, how to upload a video, place link in a organize way, link information with google docs among others. Also, I have learned how to use many application just by dicovering them by my self, that happened to me with the creation of the you tube video.
I might say that besides technology, I learned how to organize a schedule, as Laura did, very clear instructions, with videos and materials to study. It facilitated my learning process, and made me feel motivated.
Also, I think that many of the topics that the teacher assigned us to present in class were very relevant, as the use of educative software, it will help me as future teacher to chose one according to my students' needs.

WIKI

Our Wiki was based on an experience we had with students of Máximo Quesada High School, Patarra. These students had cognitives needs, familiar and social issues. We made a Motivational Workshop, and we published on the Wiki all our experiences, insights, and knowledge we got from this activity.
This Wiki will provide you with very useful information about how to motivate a student, who does not want to work in class, but also it is a way to let you know that there are thing beyond our students' interaction with their classmates and with us in class.

Evaluation Rubric

EVALUATION

I would like to say that the rucric about evaluating GROUP WORK should be graded by the professor, but also by the students who made the project with this person, because sometimes not all of them work or participate.

So, in my opinion another Rubric chart should be given to the students to grade his/her classmates. This is just an idea, in my case the group I am working with is VERY NICE AND COLABORATIVE.

How people learn.

Week 8

How people learn.
Though, people learning styles are diverse. New tendencies right now suggest that people learn by doing, and sharing their experiences and what they learned to others. Also, it suggests that people need to learn how to face the real world, so students have to able to solve problem, and develop many skills.
Actually, students have to comprehend what they are learning, I how to make it useful for life. Conclusively, technology is a very important tool to make the learning process easier, and open a widely access to information, many opportunities to discover, and innovative ways to practice and complete tasks; this is taking into account what Neuroscience suggests regarding intelligent environments.
Also, it is necessary to highlight the importance of active learning, in which the learner is more responsible from his/her learning process than the professor, so to achieve it is necessary to assign projects to students in which they have more responsibilities to do it, but also, students evaluate themselves once they have to transmit the knowledge to other.

Other intelligences

Existencial Intelligence

Moral Intelligence

Spiritual Intelligence

Naturalist Intelligence

BGFL MULTIPLE INTELIGENCE

We can develop multiple intelligences through technology, because it gave us the opportunity to learn how to play an instrument by watching a tutorial, learn another language by listening audio, media, news, videos in you tube, technology allows us to solve mathematical problems and give us the solution, or result of the operation we are making; also it allows us to be connected with our friends, family, partners. We can know people, make new friends, and look for job; we can sale and buy items.
If we want to explore what intelligent we are, or try to develop a new ability that we have, it is time to use technology to do it, and include it in our lessons to contribute with the development of people capacities.
Multiple intelligences shows us as teachers that people is different, and that they have different ways of developing skills, so we can take into account multiple intelligence inside our class, and allo students to do what they enjoy the most.
"Seven kinds of intelligence would allow seven ways to teach, rather than one."

In this link there are many options to do writing exercise; for example, there is one in which the paragraph comes disorganized, so there is a space under the paragraph in which the student writes down the paragraph correctly.
There are others like:

How People Learn and what might technology have to do with it

Nowadays, technology allows students to communicate their thoughts, and knowledge through many channels, as e mail, blogs, twitter, face book, among others.
So, with technology students are able to search for information, or acquire it from their teachers, and finally use all the tools that technology gives them to produce, and publish their works, thought, and opinions, so, in this way they can be known by many people, who can give them opportunities to be successful.
Besides that, students become an audience when they receive information from media, internet, peers, teacher, or networks. Also, they can review their peers publications and be critical thinker about many topics.
Therefore, with the advances in the technology field our kids are ready to learn how technology works, so we might enhance them to use technology in their daily lives, and of course in the learning process, so technology is not something that they have to be afraid about.
So, we as teachers have to be informed, and know the use of technology correctly in order to help students, and make their process easier; for example if a student does not know how to use a network, open an account, use the blog, or whatever it would be, we can teach them how to do it, because if we involve students in technology, they might be able to understand it.
As teachers we can be connected with the students’ preferences, and teach in a very creative way, in which we can link what is important for them and do the activities meaningful, for example create activities in which they can chose a topic of their interest, and apply technology to it (flash, blogs, publisher, Photoshop, pictures, videos, etc.)

Education and Technology

Technology:
Humans apply their knowledge designing machines.
 It has to do with software and hardware.

Advantages:
Social network.
Faster communication.
Connection with the world.
Disadvantages
People get lazy.

To teach technology:
Get training to know how to use technology to teach others.
Technology in the learning process:
 It offers a world of options to solve problems, investigate, innovate, and create and so on.

Educational Technology:
It is the ethical and practice use of technology and its resources to facilitate, innovate, and improve the learning process.

Benefits:
You can access to technology all around the world.
It motivates students.
It has a lot of educative tools, programs, and learning online.
It makes easier the process of learning.

Elements of the Rationale for Teaching with Technology
Motivation:
By motivating students we can gain student attention.

Unique instructional capabilities: Technology offers many tools that allow student to discovere how to solve a problem, or make their learning process easier.
Support for new instructional approaches:
Student can exchange their knowledge and skills with other regarding technology.
Increase teaching productivity: Help students with the production of their tasks by providing materias, knowledge, tools quickly.

Require skills for the information age: Information literacy, technology literacy, visual literacy.
 Technology makes the learning process more relevant.

7 Principles

Encourage contact between the students and the Faculty:
The facilitator should give students tools to make their learning easier.

 Develops the reciprocity and cooperation between students:
Encourage a cooperative environment between students.

 Encourages active learning:
Students learn by doing, discovering and applying their knowledge in different tasks.

 Gives prompt feedback:
Feedback has to be given immediately in order to correct mistakes, and motivate the student to finish what he started in order to not left anything behind.

 Emphasizes time on tasks:
Set up deadline in the assignments.
 Communicates high expectations:
Tell students that you are expecting the best in their projects, and assign challenging projects.

 Respects diverse talents and ways of learning:
Allow student to create by respecting the different ways of learning.

One example of using technology in education is: By assigning students to create a digital portfolio, in which they can collect information, and post digital pictures, arts, and videos. Students can use different programs (flash, Photoshop, ect) to give effects, and their own style to the portfolio.
